Gautam Gambhir tweets after winning Lok Sabha election from East Delhi

Gautam Gambhir tweets after winning Lok Sabha election: Former India opening batsmen had contested from East Delhi constituency.

Former India opening batsman Gautam Gambhir has registered victory in the Lok Sabha Election in the country. Contesting on behalf of BJP (Bharatiya Janta Party) from East Delhi constituency, Gambhir defeated Congress’ Arvinder Singh Lovely and AAP’s Atishi Marlena among his main competitors.

Having announced retirement from all forms of cricket in December last year, Gambhir had joined hands with BJP in March this year.

The southpaw had started to entice eyeballs after his criticizing remarks on social media platform Twitter in the recent times. While he refused to contest elections immediately after retiring, it seems he took his time to come to a conclusion.

In what was a debut on a whole new platform, Gambhir has registered a colossal victory. Having gained 52.2% votes, Gambhir has accumulated more than double the votes from the next candidate in Lovely (25.8). The fact that Gambhir received in excess of three lakh votes in itself speaks highly about the expanse of his victory.

What followed for an 8-year-old was an instant adulation for both Ganguly and the sport. The optimist in him is waiting for the day when Punjab Kings will win their maiden Indian Premier League title. When not watching cricket, he is mostly found in a cinema hall watching a Punjabi movie.
