The Genshin Impact 3.4 update will roll out soon on January 18, 2022, and the banner schedule for the update has already been revealed. The update will be divided into two phases and each phase will have a certain number of content additions. New characters and weapons will be introduced in each phase.

In the first phase of the new update, two new characters will be introduced. Both Alhaitham and Yaoyao will be a part of the first phase. Travelers will see both characters in two different events: Caution in Confidence and Invitation to Mundane Life. Both of these events will start with the update on January 18, 2023, and will end on February 7, 2023.
Phase 2
In the second phase, players see the rerun of the Hu Tao banner while Yelan’s banner also returns for an event. Hu Tao will be available in the Moment of Bloom event wish and Yelan will be playable in the Discerner of Enigmas event wish. Phase 2 is going to run from February 7 to February 28.
What to expect from the 3.4 update
Besides everything that will be available in phases 1 and 2, players will also get to witness the yearly Lantern Rite Festival. This event will come with a lot of new rewards that can be won by participating in the mini-games. The biggest reward of all will be the chance to get Yaoyao for free.
A new area called the Desert of Hadramaveth will also be seen in Sumeru. More information will come to the surface as soon as the update is out.
