Genshin Impact TCG lovers will be excited to know that Astra Carnival: The Prince Cup, a real-life TCG tournament, is on the way. Read on to learn more details.

Genshin Impact has once again hooked their players with an interesting real-life event, this time a global offline TCG contest for the best TCG players around the world. Players will compete to win rewards upto a total of $50,000.

The tournament will take place with different schedules for different regions, including North America, Europe, South-East Asia, and Latin America, certainly depending on the in-game server of the players. Let’s dive in to take a look at the detailed overview of the event.

Genshin Impact Astra Carnival: The Prince Cup – Wild Card Registrations

For each region, 32 players will be shortlisted for the Online Qualifiers. This will include players who had participated in the Cat’s Tail Gathering TCG competitions which took place earlier this year, as well as Wild Card entries for new players.

Only players above Player Level 4 in Genius Invokation TCG can make online registrations, to a limit of 256 people. Additionally, in North America and Europe, upto 15 and 22 Wild Card entries respectively will be selected among the 32, depending upon the number of regional Cat’s Tail Gathering participants who wish to enter the Prince Cup.

The Cat’s Tail Gathering competitions for Asia and Latin America are yet to take place, although around 24 spots will be reserved for the players in the Prince Cup. The same is scheduled to open for registrations on July 10 for both regions.

The schedules for the wildcard registration in different regions are as follows:

  • North America: May 29, 2023, 4:00 (EDT) /7:00 (PDT) – May 31, 2023, 2:39 (EDT)/20:59 (PDT)
  • Europe: May 29, 2023, 13:00 – May 31, 2023, 23:59 (CEST)
  • Southeast Asia: From August 26, 2023
  • Latin America: From August 12, 2023

Then, the official WePlay Esports team will shortlist 256 candidates, prioritizing higher player levels and early registrations. Subsequently, online Wild Card matches, with the following schedule, will take place:

  • North America: June 6, 14:00 – June 7, 16:00 (PDT)
  • Europe: June 6, 17:00 – June 7, 19:00 (CEST)
  • Southeast Asia: TBA
  • Latin America: TBA

Finally, 32 players will compete in the Online Qualifiers, among which 8 will progress to the offline finals in each region. The region-wise schedules for the Online Qualifiers are as follows:

  • North America: June 10, 13:00-16:00 (PDT) & June 11, 13:00-16:00 (PDT)
  • Europe: June 10, 17:00-20:00 (CEST) & June 11, 17:00-20:00 (CEST)
  • Southeast Asia: TBA
  • Latin America: TBA

Genshin Impact Astra Carnival: The Prince Cup – Main Event

The eight players selected in the Qualifiers will be able to participate in the main event, the Offline Championship Matches for each region. The main regions include North America (America server), Europe (Europe server), South East Asia with HK/MO/TW (Asia server), and Latin America (America Server). Players from Korea and Japan can compete in their national events.

The selected players will be invited to different locations to compete in the offline matches. All the travel expenses during the tournament will be taken care of by the official Genshin Impact team.

Matches in various regions will take place according to the following schedule:

  • North America: June 17, 2023, 12:00-17:00 (PDT)
  • Europe: June 17, 2023, 21:00-2:00 (CEST)
  • Southeast Asia: Tentatively September 17, 2023
  • Latin America: Tentatively September 3, 2023

The finals for different regions will take place in different cities. Accordingly, the locations for the same are:

  • North America: Los Angeles
  • Europe: TBA
  • Southeast Asia: Malaysia
  • Latin America: Brazil

The event will provide enticing rewards, not only to the winners but also to the participants of the Qualifiers. The rewards for North America and Europe sum up to a total of $50,000. Additionally, all players who make it to the offline finals will receive an exclusive Card Back for TCG.

North America rewards

  • 1st place: $16,000
  • 2nd place: $10,000
  • 3rd-4th place: $4,500
  • 5th-8th place: $2,350
  • 9th-16th place: $700 + 1000 Primogems
  • 17th-37th: 500 Primogems

Europe rewards

  • 1st place: $16,000
  • 2nd place: $10,000
  • 3rd-4th place: $4,500
  • 5th-8th place: $2,350
  • 9th-16th place: $700 + 1000 Primogems
  • 17th-37th: 500 Primogems

South East Asia rewards

Rewards will include a Cash Prize total of $37,000

Latin America rewards

Rewards will include a Cash Prize total of $37,000

Players should note that all participants must reside in the region they represent and play in the consecutive server. HoYoverse has also announced a showdown among the top 4 participants from North America and Europe on June 18, which will most likely take place in an offline server as Genshin Impact doesn’t support cross-server games.
