How to defeat Scaramouche in Genshin Impact?
Like the other Fatui Harbinger enemies (Childe and Signora), the Balladeer also has two phases of the fight. Let’s take a look at the stepwise guide for the same.
Scaramouche Weekly Boss: Phase 1
The first phase of the fight will start against Scaramouche with half his godly powers. There will be six circular platforms on a stage in front of the boss with elements- 2 Electro, Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, and Anemo. Players will also start with a hovering green pet, called the Neo Akasha Terminal, which is a blessing from Nahida that will help in the fight.
When the phase starts, concentrate on collecting the blue Energy Blocks that will spawn during the fight. These can be either small or large. Collecting two small crystals or a large crystal will recharge the pet to full. During this time, you can attack the boss with ranged characters except Electro ones to deal a small amount of damage.
Once the charge is full, players can use the elemental platforms in the fight by standing on them and tapping the green button or pressing T. Then aim to use the Electro platforms to paralyze the boss. When the first Electro platform is interacted with, the Balladeer gets semi-stunned. Collect more energy and interact with the second one to completely paralyze it. Now is the chance to use all the DPS attacks and elemental bursts to bring it down.
Attack patterns and counters
If you can’t defeat the boss in one go, it will regain its consciousness again and attack more powerfully. There are different types of moves that it can summon at this point:
- Electro laser beams rotate around the stage, similar to Electro Hypostasis. They can be countered by dashing through the beams in the opposite direction.
- Electro AoE attacks can be easily avoided by sprinting away.
- The boss will also summon Cryo and Pyro AoE attacks and affect the stage to deplete HP continuously. But this effect can be removed by interacting with the Pyro and Cryo elemental stages respectively for Cryo and Pyro attacks.
Players can also use the Hydro stage for healing. However, it is always useful to save energy for the Electro stages to paralyze the boss and defeat it as quickly as possible.
Scaramouche Weekly Boss: Phase 2
The second phase has Scaramouche with his full godly powers. Make sure to collect the Energy Blocks as they appear. They can be reached easily as they will have a Four-Leaf Sigil over them that can teleport you to them.
In this phase, the attacks of the boss have a huge AoE, so make sure to stay as far away from the enemy as possible. Scaramouche will also be throwing circular bombs of different elements which can deal AoE damage if not broken. Break the bombs using suitable elements, Dendro for Hydro bombs, Pyro for Cryo, and Hydro for Pyro.
When the energy bar is full, tap the green button to be able to hold and aim at Scaramouche. Throw the Neo Akasha Terminal at Scaramouche to bring down its shield.
When the shield is down, Scaramouche will fire four drones called the Nirvana Engines, resistant to Electro and Hydro. Three of them will be flying while one will be on the ground. Pyro, Dendro, or Cryo ranged characters can be very useful here as you will need to shoot these drones down to get more Energy Blocks. Hit him with the Akasha again to paralyze him. This process has to be done within 40 seconds of bringing down his shield, failing which he will cast a Setsuna Shoumetsu attack, which will result in the immediate inevitable death of the active character.
Now, glide over to the boss quickly using the Four-Leaf Sigil. Use your DPS and Elemental Bursts to bring him down. If you are unsuccessful, the boss will regain its strength and you have to continue the fight similarly as before.
Team Recommendations and more
It is highly recommended that players bring a ranged character that is not Electro or Hydro, to break the drones in the last phase. This can be either a bow wielder or a catalyst character. Cryo, Pyro, and Dendro are good options as they will help with the Elemental bombs too. Ranged characters can also help attack the Balladeer in the first phase when he is at full strength. Apart from this, build your team with DPS with strong Bursts to take the boss down in one go in both phases.
Any good team will work as long as there are strong DPS characters and suitable ranged characters. Here are some examples of good teams against the Scaramouche weekly boss in Genshin Impact:
- Amber + Collei + Xiangling + Bennett
- Ganyu + Nahida + Bennett + Kazuha
- Yoimiya + Xingqiu + Ayaka + Bennett
- Yanfei + Bennett + Barbara + Ayaka
Certain Achievements can be gained from the Scaramouche boss fight. These are:
- “It All Comes Tumbling Down”: Interact with two Electro platforms in the first phase for the first time.
- “Causality of Birth and Extinction”: Get killed by the Setsuna Shoumetsu attack for the first time.
There is also an easter egg which is easy to miss. When Raiden Shogun is the active character that is killed, Scaramouche says a line that directly refers to her as ‘Beelzebul’, his creator.
By equipping players with the knowledge and strategies provided in this guide, clearing the Scaramouche Weekly Boss should become a more manageable task. If you found this article helpful, we encourage you to explore our other articles for the game to further enhance your gaming experience.
