Gerard Pique always finds himself in the news, though not always for the right reasons. The graceful defender recently admitted that he felt inferior to Real Madrid after Los Blancos thrashed their Classico rivals 5-1 on aggregate in the Spanish Super Cup.
Pique, along with Busquets, Iniesta and Messi are the only ones that remain from Guardiola’s dream team that was arguably the best club side that the world had ever seen.
But those days seem a very long time ago, as the current Barcelona side look disjointed and seemingly still recovering from the loss of Neymar earlier in the window.

While some believe that Barcelona are no longer the club that they once were, Pique still believes that players consider it a dream to join the Catalan side.
“I think players still want to join Barcelona, and they are showing that as is the case with Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele,” he said.
“One by putting in a transfer request and the other with his actions at Dortmund. It suggests that they are both delighted about the idea of coming; they want to come.”
Pique also spoke about the question marks that surround Lionel Messi at the moment. As it stands, Messi has not yet agreed a contract extension which makes him a free agent come next January.
“All players have the right to sign or renew their contracts when they want to. In the end, a renewal is a question for the club and the player. That’s true in all cases, I’m not just talking about Messi.
“When the two sides agree and they find the moment to sign, they sign. We hope it happens as soon as possible.”
Pique added he expects Messi to remain at Barca in the years ahead, saying: “Everyone knows he loves the club more than anyone. People shouldn’t be concerned that he won’t sign.”
