Hardik Pandya Injury Update

Hardik Pandya Injury Update: The Indian all-rounder has been diagnosed with a lower back injury and is receiving treatment at the moment.

During the fifth match of the ongoing Asia Cup between India and Pakistan at Dubai, India all-rounder was seen falling down on the ground after bowling the penultimate delivery of his fifth over.

At that time, it was observed that Pandya might be struggling due to the adverse weather conditions. Dubai’s hot weather can take a toll on the players, especially fast bowlers bowling during the afternoon.

However, BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) took to Twitter to clarify that the 24-year old cricketer has an acute lower back injury. The tweet further contained the information that Pandya was able to stand at that moment and is being assessed by the medical team. Watch the full tweet below:

Whether Pandya will take part in the second innings of the match is still unclear. If Pandya doesn’t recover soon, it will be a huge blow to the Indian team for he remains a vital member of the side. Given his all-round abilities, finding a suitable replacement will always be an onerous task.

Pandya was one of the players who was present in England for the Test series. If he sustains a major injury, a lot of questions are bound to be raised regarding the management of workload of players who play all formats of the game these days.
