Here's the reason why Sanju Samson was missing from team India's celebration picture

Here’s the reason why Sanju Samson was missing from the Indian team’s picture after they won the T20 series against Sri Lanka last night.

Sanju Samson has been deprived of chances in the Indian team, Rishabh Pant’s explosive batting has often been chosen above the former during the team selection.

However last night Samson was given an opportunity in the 3rd T20I match against Sri Lanka. The batsman was even promoted ahead of the skipper Virat Kohli in the order.

Initially, it seemed Samson meant business, as he struck a six in the very first ball he faced last night. Unfortunately in the second ball, he plumbed in front and joy didn’t last for long for the fans.

However, a fantastic performance by the middle order took India to the score 0f 202 which allowed them to secure the match by 78 runs. Amidst all the celebrations, Samson was nowhere to be seen in the team picture after winning the series and fans grew suspicious.

But it later emerged that there was nothing wrong off the pitch. Samson didn’t join the team celebration picture as he joined India A team to travel New Zealand for practice games.

Just after the Team India win over Sri Lanka in the final match, Indian opener Mayank Agarwal shared a picture of himself along with India-A team including Sanju Samson while they were in the flight.

Samson is among the contenders to fulfil the void left in MS Dhoni’s absence, but Pant is also deemed to be one of the best talents to be produced by India.

A section of fans does believe that Samson deserves chances ahead of the Delhi Capitals batsman, as the latter has lost his wickets recklessly and has blown away opportunities in the process.
