A lucky Tadic free kick gave Southampton the lead which was cancelled out by a spectacular over head kick from Koscielny. The match seemed destined for a draw before Fonte brought Giroud down in stoppage to give Arsenal a penalty. Read on to find out the Heroes and Zeroes from Arsenal vs Southampton !
Hero – Santi Cazorla
What a performance from the Spanish maestro !
Cazorla was sensational through out the game as he instigated everything around him. Arsenal have missed him desperately since he was injured back in December and that was one of the main reasons for their tame end to the season.
But his flicks and tricks were back in action today as he jiggled and weaved his way around the Emirates. Arsenal seem a much better team when Santi is in this sort of mood. (Heroes and Zeroes from Arsenal vs Southampton)
He also showed great guts to score that pressure penalty to give Arsenal what was an extremely crucial three points. Ohhhh Santi Cazorla indeed !
Zero – Shane Long
Shane Long will come away from this match knowing that he missed some guilt edged opportunities to win the match for his team.
He missed an open goal while also not finishing decent chances in the second half which would have surely won the Saints the match.
A disappointing afternoon for the Irish man. (Heroes and Zeroes from Arsenal vs Southampton)

Hero – Laurent Koscielny
Birthday boy and captain for the day, the Boss was in his element as he put a near flawless performance for his team.
A superb goal to level things up while a promising partnership with Mustafi on sight Koscielny had a great afternoon at the Emirates. (Heroes and Zeroes from Arsenal vs Southampton)
Keep him fit and Arsenal have a pretty good chance for silverware this season.
