Corpse Husband, the Among Us streamer cum star, opened up on Twitter recently about his struggles with fame, with a rhetorical question for Billie Eilish.
It goes without saying that many up and coming streamers have benefitted massively from Among Us. The hype train has been huge. And it has pushed previously lesser-known names like Disguised Toast & Sykkuno into mainstream culture. However, of all the people to have shot up the ladder of fame, Corpse Husband’s rise has probably been the greatest.
Corpse Husband, a Streamer like no other.
With a voice, which is perhaps the most iconic ever on YouTube, and a chilling personality, it’s easy to see why Corpse has become so famous. There’s an aura of mystery all around him. The chilly, Tokyo Ghoulish mask, a hidden identity, a persona that never wavers. Together, they make Corpse’s online persona is almost unreal. Add to that the fact that this seemingly “dark”, “cold” man narrates horror stories for a living. And what you have before you is a gothic masterpiece.
As a result, ever since a major breakthrough from his iconic Among Us plays, he has been on a meteoric rise. The recent stream he had with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has helped the cause further.
However, fame comes with its own compromises and evils. Especially when it’s very quickly earned, as in case of Corpse. And it’s safe to say that the man is feeling the pressure of all these new eyes on him.
The Twitter post: The mask, a heavy burden to bear.
I would love to have a conversation w/ @billieeilish or something about how tf she coped with coming up so quick because this shit is hell behind the scenes lmao. So much wild shit goes on. I can’t imagine my physical appearance being out there on top of that, sounds crazy

When fans constantly irritate you with questions about your identity & stalkers decide to figure it out for themselves, one is sure to feel violated. And from the looks of it, Corpse is not taking things well.
Corpse began his Twitter post with a rhetorical question for Billie Eilish. However, he soon got to the root of the issue. (For those of you wondering why he referenced Eilish, she, like Corpse, gained viral fame).
“So much wild shit goes on… behind the scenes”, he said as the Youtuber referred to recent changes in his life. “How tf did she (Eilish) cope with coming up so quick?”. It’s easy to detect the wonder and confusion in these sentences of Corpse. Add to this the fact that a few days ago, he shared how he’s had to limit outdoor time to avoid getting recognised. And you get the idea, that the man is feeling the heat of undue attention and shutting himself up to avoid it.
Bottomline.
Corpse maybe unique when it comes to his voice. But he certainly isn’t the first to suffer from the problems of fame and attention. At this point, however, it’s good to see that the man has been keeping it together. It’s always heartwarming to watch new creators rise up on a global stage. However, as we’ve seen, staying there and keeping your sanity can be a difficult balance to strike.
As fans of Corpse, we can do our bit to help him by not bothering him with undue questions about his mask or identity. That’ll go a long way in helping Corpse Husband scale further heights.
