How You Can Easily Farm Cocoa in Minecraft

Where to Find the Cocoa Beans

The cocoa beans themselves are pretty rare if you are roaming around the game without knowing where they spawn. Before you prepare your axe, we will need to find these beans. To do that, make your way over to the jungle biomes. From there you will have to find some jungle tree trunks.

These jungle tree trunks will have cocoa pods. There are cocoa beans inside those cocoa pods. Make sure you get your axe, you don’t want to reach and then find out you can’t chop them. When you find those cocoa pods, cut them and harvest as much as you can. One pod gives you two to three beans.

Collecting the Required Materials

Now that we have the main ingredients, we will need two more things. First, we will need jungle logs, you can get them in the same spot you were harvesting the cocoa beans. These jungle logs can be obtained by cutting the logs of trees found only in jungles, any other tree block won’t work.

Next is the Bone Meal. Bone meal can be found from bones you find from skeleton mobs or by bone blocks. Put them on the crafting table and you’ve got a bone meal.

Putting it All Together

When you reach your base, open up your inventory and place those jungle logs you farmed one on top of the other. You can also lay them down in a straight line if you want. Now place those cocoa blocks on the logs and repeat for every block you have.

Congratulations, you have created a cocoa farm.

Speeding up the Process

Now to speed up the process. All you need to do is use bone meal on the growing cocoa beans and this will speed up the growth. Now, there are three different steps for the cocoa beans to grow. First, there are green-colored pods, then it grows up to a brownish shade and the final phase is the cocoa pods you picked up.

Once they are fully done, break them open and harvest the cocoa just like you did at the start. Rinse and repeat to make a cocoa farm.

Those are all the steps you should keep in mind to grow a cocoa farm and get grow the crop. This cocoa can be used to make many items like cookies, brown dye, and more. For a tutorial on how to create black-colored dyes, click here.
