The tournament will be conducted in the round-robin format- the one which was last exercised during the 1992 World Cup. Here, all the 10 participating teams will face each other, before the top 4 teams (in the points table) advance towards the semi-final stage.

Skipper Virat Kohli, and head coach of the Indian Cricket Team, Ravi Shastri on Tuesday, addressed a Press Conference at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai before the London departure.

Virat exclaimed the fact that Team India is a formidable and a well-balanced, strong side and will expect his fellow cricketers to play to the best of their potentials in the World Cup. He also made sure that signs of complacency does not creep in as he asserted that this is going to be a challenging World Cup, wherein any side can topple the other on their day.

Coach Ravi Shastri also cited the strength of the Afghan side, as he opined that the there is a huge difference between the Afghanistan of 2015 and the one today, making sure that the Indian side approaches each game with the same vigour and intensity, irrespective of the reputation of the opposition.

Nevertheless, upon the Indian Team’s arrival in London, the BCCI and skipper Kohli posted the picture of the entire team bearing the captions- “Touchdown London #TeamIndia”, and “Touchdown UK” respectively.
