The BCCI selection committee today announced the squad for the T20 series against England and Ireland.
BCCI made it a point to get the limited overs series scheduled before the Test series, so as to give the limited overs players who also play in the Test team some much needed match practice in English conditions.
The schedule also provides India’s test specialists with some much needed time in English conditions before stepping out on the field in Birmingham for the 1st Test.
The 14 man T20 squad does look like a very strong one, however, the current orange cap holder Ambati Rayudu would be disappointed for having not made it to the Indian T20 squad despite his impressive performances in the IPL.

While the usual suspects have made it to the XI, Siddharth Kaul has been rewarded for his brilliant performances in the IPL and will be hoping for a game in the seamer friendly conditions in England.
Washington Sundar too has retained his position after an impressive showing in the Nidahas Trophy.
Umesh Yadav too has been rewarded for his excellent performances with the ball for RCB
