India announce squad for England T20 series
The Indian team will be touring England from July to September, playing 3 T20s, 3 ODIs and 5 Tests against the hosts.
The BCCI selection committee today announced the squad for the T20 series against England and Ireland.
BCCI made it a point to get the limited overs series scheduled before the Test series, so as to give the limited overs players who also play in the Test team some much needed match practice in English conditions.
The schedule also provides India’s test specialists with some much needed time in English conditions before stepping out on the field in Birmingham for the 1st Test.
The 14 man T20 squad does look like a very strong one, however, the current orange cap holder Ambati Rayudu would be disappointed for having not made it to the Indian T20 squad despite his impressive performances in the IPL.
