Indian Women beat the Netherlands at World Women’s Team Squash Championship

Playing for 9th-12th placings, India Squash team made short work of The Netherlands 3-0 in the opening round robin match.

The Indian Women’s Squash Team on Thursday defeated The Netherlands 3-0 in the first round robin match at the World women’s team squash championship. The matches are being played for 9th-12th placing.

As per the schedule put in order, India’s Dipika Pallikal Karthik started the day with a win over Tessa Ter Sluis in a one-sided affair.

Next up from India was Joshna Chinappa. She was not at the top of her form but still managed to beat Milou Van Der Heijden in a long four-gamer.

Finally, Sunayna Kuruvilla took a straight game victory over Milja Dorenbos to seal the match for India. The other contesting teams are that from Japan and Canada.

India bt The Netherlands 3-0 (Dipika Pallikal Karthik bt Tessa Ter Sluis 11-5 11-7 11-5; Joshna Chinappa bt Milou Van Der Heijden 5-11 12-10 11-7 11-8; Sunayna Kuruvilla bt Milja Dorenbos 11-8 11-5 11-4).
