CSK's probable XI against DD

CSK are at second position in this year’s IPL right now. A win in today’s encounter against DD will take them top of the table, in a neck to neck fight with SRH for apex position.

CSK were thumped convincingly by MI in their last match and we could see few changes made by Dhoni for today match. CSK showed very poor form with the ball and they will be tempted to give few chances to their overseas pace battery, before the end of transfer window.

Here is CSK’s probable XI:

OPENERS:

Shane Watson

Shane Watson has been sensation for CSK this season. Although he went for plenty in last match, he would like to a put last match’s performance behind him by coming up with a huge score at the top of the order.

Ambati Rayudu

Rayudu has been the biggest  sensation for CSKin IPL 2018. He comes to bat as opener and is all set from a word go. He has capability to construct partnerships which comes handy in setting up big totals or chasing them down, like we saw in the previous match.

Rayudu would be hoping to continue his good form for today’s game.

MIDDLE ORDER:

Suresh Raina

Raina is going good this IPL with little cameos here and there. He was very good last time around with his 75 of just 47 balls. He will be looking to keep up with his current form.

MS Dhoni(C/WK)

Dhoni has been batting like a sweet summer poem this IPL. He will  look to do that again and lead from example.

Sam Billings

He is new kid on the block among series of veteran players in CSK line-up which brings its own advantages. He has only managed 80 runs in 6 matches and will be looking to get a big score today.

ALL ROUNDERS:

Ravindra Jadeja

Jadeja had no role to play in last match as he wasn’t asked to bowl and didn’t get to play any delivery as well. Dhoni has been using him has floater in bowling and batting and we can expect same today.

Hopefully he gets to play a greater role today.

Dwayne Bravo

Even though Bravo got a golden duck in last match, he bowled particularly well. He has already played few terrific cameos and we can expect more to follow.

Bowling is his strong suit and he is being used in that death overs bowling role, something that he has mastered over the years.

BOWLERS:

Harbhajan Singh

Harbhajan had a terrific bowling performance in the last match against MI, although in a losing cause. He has shown that he can bowl during any phase of the game and hence you can expect him to dish out a good performance even today.

Karn Sharma

While Tahir has been amongst the wickets for CSK, he could be left out in order to accommodate a foreign pacer.

Karn was good in the 2 matches he was given an opportunity in and will be able use his leg spin to good effect against DD

David Wiley

David Wiley was recruited by CSK after the auctions and it has to be CSK’s shrewdest buy, as Wiley can swing the ball upfront, bowl at the death and also use the long handle with the bat.

He could come in as the leader of the attack today.

Shardul Tahkur

Thakur had yet another expensive spell in the last match and he would be looking to change his fortune today.
