IPL 2019 News: Mumbai Indians mock Rohit Sharma after Abhinav Singh’s 265
Mumbai Indians mock Rohit Sharma: The IPL franchise was seen mocking their own captain ahead of the 12th season of IPL.
Indian Premier League franchise Mumbai Indians were recently witnessed mocking their own captain in Rohit Sharma. The same happened after batsman Abhinav Singh (playing for Rizvi Springfield) scored 265 in the MI Inter-School Cricket Tournament.
The tournament is conducted by Mumbai Indians to create a wide pool of emerging talent from the city. The reason behind laying emphasis on Abhinav’s knock was the fact that he surpassed Indians captain Sharma’s world-record ODI score of 264.
.@ImRo45, we’ve got someone who has bettered your 264 😋

It was during the fourth ODI of Sri Lanka’s tour of India in 2014 at Kolkata that Sharma had played that epic knock. Opening the batting for India alongside Ajinkya Rahane, Sharma ended up scoring 264 (173) with the help of 33 fours and nine sixes.
On the back of Sharma’s fifth ODI century, India had scored 404-5 in their allotted quota of 50 overs. After dismissing the opposition for 251 in 43.1 overs, India ended up winning the match by 153 runs.
MI would be looking make amends in IPL 2019
Mumbai Indians, the first team to win the IPL title thrice, had failed to reach the qualifying stage last year. Having made a few changes to their squad this year, the franchise would be hoping for their decisions to reap fruits.
According to the first leg of the schedule which was released earlier, the 12th season of the IPL will begin on March 23 this year. Mumbai will play their season opener against Delhi Capitals in Mumbai on March 24.
Their second match will be against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Bangalore on March 28. MI will then travel up north to Mohali to face Kings XI Punjab on March 30. Their fourth match will be on April 3 against Chennai Super Kings at Mumbai.
