"Never over analyse a loss": RCB respond firmly to Punjab Kings' 'Yahan pe sab shanti shanti hai' tweet

RCB respond firmly to Punjab Kings: The two franchises were seen taking digs at each other after last night’s IPL 2021 clash.

After facing each other on the ground for 40 overs last night, Indian Premier League franchises Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore carry forwarded the battle to social media platform Twitter as well.

It all started after victorious Punjab posted a photo of dejected Bangalore players after a 34-run loss at the Narendra Modi Stadium. In their tweet, Kings referred to the song ‘Yeh Sheher Hai’ from Vikram Bhatt’s ‘Raaz’ (2002).

Yahan pe sab shanti shanti hai [Everything is silence over here],” read Punjab Kings’ tweet.

Royal Challengers, who lost their second match this season, continued to remain in high spirits for they still are at the third position on the points table as compared to Punjab’s fifth position.

Bringing the same into Kings’ attention, Bangalore highlighted their strategy of not going overboard either after wins or losses this season. It is worth mentioning that RCB captain Virat Kohli had opined on similar lines after one of their victories earlier this season.

Chasing a 180-run target, Bangalore were restricted to 145/8 in 20 overs primarily by the spin-duo of Harpreet Brar (4-1-19-3) and Ravi Bishnoi (4-0-17-2). Had it not been for a quickfire 48-run partnership for the eighth wicket between Kyle Jamieson (16*) and Harshal Patel (31) in the business end of their innings, RCB would have succumbed to an even bigger loss.

Asked to bat first by Kohli, PBKS posted a competitive 179/5 in 20 overs despite a middle-order collapse. While captain Lokesh Rahul scored 91* (57) with the help of seven fours and five sixes to play yet another captain’s knock for his team, Brar (25 not out) made the most of an opportunity by putting together an unbeaten 61-run partnership with his skipper.
