Arsene Wenger on Ramsey: Arsenal’s former manager Arsene Wenger has spoken on Aaron Ramsey’s contract situation at the club.
Arsenal is in a great run of form at the moment. Unai Emery’s side is on a 9-match winning run across all competitions. Arsenal is yet to drop points in their last six Premier League matches as well.
The Gunners made a poor start to their Premier League campaign, as they lost both of their opening games to Manchester City and Chelsea. However, in the Premier League table at the moment, the club is only two points behind both the clubs, with City at the top of the league.
Arsenal is also through to the round-of-16 of the Carabao Cup, where they face lower-league side Blackpool. In the Europa League, they registered convincing victories over Volrska and Qarabag.
However, Arsenal faces a tough time in dealing with Aaron Ramsey for a new contract. The talks for a new deal between the club and the Welsh midfielder broke two weeks ago, and Ramsey has now confirmed that he has little hope of renewing his deal. Now, Arsenal’s former manager Arsene Wenger has spoken on the situation.
Wenger on Ramsey:
Arsene Wenger resigned from his post after 22 years of being in charge at Arsenal. The French manager spoke about Ramsey’s contract situation in a recent interview, and insisted that a new deal can still take place.
“These things were once my responsibility, but not anymore. I’m happy about that.”

“We tried that before and it still can happen,” said Wenger.
“I don’t really know what’s happening at Arsenal. Sure, Aaron Ramsey is in a strong position now and he will use this position.

“But I don’t know how far Arsenal will go in terms of giving him a huge contract. These things were once my responsibility, but not anymore. I’m happy about that.”

What next?
Manchester United and Liverpool are both reportedly interested in signing the Welsh midfielder. Italian champions Juventus is also keen on bringing Ramsey to Turin.
Losing Ramsey, Welbeck and Wilshere for free within the space of 12 months sums up the mess left behind at Arsenal by Wenger abd Gazidas. That’s close to £100m of talent walking away for nothing. Raul Sanllehi must make contracts a number one priority immediately. #afc

The midfielder confirmed in an interview during the international break that he will see his contract out at the Emirates and will not push for a move in January.
