Ivan Perisic to Arsenal: Arsenal are still active in the transfer market and have approached Inter Milan for a potential loan move.
Arsenal faced a 3-1 defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup fourth round last night.
The side faces further concerns as Laurent Koscielny and Sokratis are feared injured. Unai Emery’s side is currently fifth in the Premier League and has a tough competition from United, who are level on points at 6th.
As the race for the top-4 grows intense, Arsenal are actively looking for potential signings in the transfer market.
David Ornstein, the BBC journalist who serves as Arsenal’s correspondent, has now reported that Arsenal have contacted Inter Milan for a potential loan move for Ivan Perisic.
Ivan Perisic to Arsenal:
Reputed Arsenal transfer journalist David Ornstein has stated that Arsenal have made an approach for Perisic to Serie A side Inter Milan.
Ahead of the game against West Ham in the Premier League earlier this month, Unai Emery confirmed that Arsenal ‘can’t’ make signings in this transfer window.
However, he stated that the club is open to the possibility of loan moves.
Arsenal have made an approach to sign Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic. #AFC want loan with £35m option to buy. 29yo open to #Inter exit. Fits plan of versatile midfielder e.g. Suarez (still possible) / Nkunku + winger. Unclear if injuries mean defender wanted but Sokratis not bad

Wow always been a big fan of Perisic. Issue is he is 29. But he’ll give us a couple of good years at least. 35m seems a bit too high still.

Earlier, Ornstein reported that a loan move for Paris Saint Germain’s Christopher Nkunku is close. The 21-year-old midfielder has previously worked with Unai Emery during his time at the Ligue 1 outfit.
The chances of the loan move have increased after PSG signed Leandro Paredes from Zenit St. Petersburg.
While it is still unclear whether Barcelona will allow Denis Suarez to leave the club, Ornstein has reported that there is a possibility of Arsenal completing a loan move for the midfielder as well.
If Arsenal could secure the loan deals for all the three players in the transfer window, they will have a strong chance for a top-4 finish.
First thought on Perisic. Good player obviously, but doesn’t exactly help with the ageing squad and a bulging wage bill that desperately needs trimming.

Luciano Spalletti: “It’s natural Perisic is talked about, because everyone values him the same way we do. If someone is interested, the conditions have to be right to pay his value, because he is such a strong player.” pic.twitter.com/K2v5deF3z1

Ornstein has claimed that Perisic is interested in the move and the deal could take place within this month. He has further reported that the deal will also include an option for permanent transfer amounting to a £35m fee.
Arsenal may also be inclined to make a move for a defender after injuries to Sokratis and Koscielny. However, Ornstein states that the possibility of the move is thin.
