James Neesham comes up with painful set of statements after New Zealand’s loss vs England in 2019 Cricket World Cup final at Lord’s on Sunday

The entire Cricketing fraternity had bitten of their nails already before realising that they were in for more breathtaking stuff- a tie even in the Super Over- one, which was more than just a nail-biting contest.
England emerge victorious as they win the final of the 2019 Cricket World Cup at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground by scoring more number of boundaries as opposed to the Kiwis throughout the course of the match.
With 15 required of the final over, England managed to garner 14 to take the match into the Super Over- the first time ever in the history of World Cup. But, the script did not reach its climax until the Super Over too ended with a Draw, with both the teams managing to score 15 runs each.
But, riding on the superior boundary count- 26 for England as opposed to 17 for England throughout the course of the match (including the Super Over), England became the eventual World champions for the first time in the history of the tournament.
While the Cricketing fraternity cherished and enjoyed a humdinger of a final to the fullest, a major fraction was disappointed on ICC’s rule which decides the winner with respect to which team hit the more number of boundaries in their respective innings throughout the match. Fans and experts empathised with the New Zealand team as they felt it was really harsh and unfair on them, especially when there was absolutely nothing separating the two sides (but the no. of boundaries).
James Neesham feels gutted, as the whole of New Zealand
The New Zealand all-rounder James Neesham has come up with a set of painful and anguishing comments via his social media handles after his team’s agonising loss in the Super Over.
Neesham was sent in to bat with his team requiring 16 off the Super Over to clinch its maiden World Cup title. He scored a total of 13 runs off 5 deliveries, including a mammoth six in the deep mid-wicket region off Jofra Archer in the second delivery.
But, with Martin Guptill on strike, and two runs required of the ultimate delivery the duo could only complete one run with Guptill getting run-out at the striker’s end. A shocked Guptill just couldn’t bear the pain and refused to get off the ground for quite some time.
Neesham too, expressed his anguish via Twitter and an unbearable pain forced him to advise the kids to not take up sport, and rather choose a profession like baking, die at the age of 60; fat and happy.
In yet another Tweet, he admitted that the lost really hurt him, and that hopefully in the next decade, there would come a day or two where he would not think about the last half an hour of the match.
