Real Madrid have already spent £268.6m on Eder Militao, Rodrygo Goes, Luka Jovic, Fernald Mendy and Eden Hazard. They are also linked with Paul Pogba and Kylian Mbappe at the moment. Zidane sees the midfielder as surplus to requirements and wants to strike Rodriguez from their wage bill to make room for them.
However,
The Sun has reported that personal terms have been agreed between the player and Partenopei and he will soon be reunited with Carlo Ancelotti who managed him at both Real and Bayern.
James Rodriguez joined the Spanish bigwigs back in 2014 after a formidable showing in the World Cup. However, the Colombian has failed to live up to the expectations placed on him. This has seen him leave the club on two loan spells with Bayern Munich before. The Bavarians though, declined to make his move permanent. This opened up interests from other European clubs including Manchester United and Arsenal. The door though, seems to have closed on them and they will now have to look elsewhere.
