Joao Felix transfer: Benfica demands non-negotiable fee from top European clubs including Man Utd and Barcelona

Joao Felix transfer: Benfica asserts massive transfer fee from top European clubs for Joao Felix amid interests from Manchester United and Barcelona.

Joao Felix is one of the hottest properties in this summer transfer window this season. The 19-year-old is on the radar of every top club as his skillful exploits have gathered concrete interests.

Among the top clubs, Manchester United and Barcelona are leading the pursuit for Felix. However, both the clubs are reluctant to trigger the massive release clause of £105 million for the Portuguese International.

The player has been phenomenal this season as he has amassed 20 goals and 11 assists in 43 appearances for Benfica across all competition.

Thus, it has surely alerted the biggest clubs in Europe, but his massive price tag is warding away the interested clubs as investing such a mammoth amount for a 19-year-old, who is yet to prove himself in a top league is precarious.

However, in an interaction with TVI24, as per Manchester Evening news, Benfica’s executive manager Domingos Soares de Oliveira that any offer below the £100 million will be rejected by the club.

“The goal is to keep the squad. If someone hits 100 million for Felix, the intention is not to sell. 100 million is a lot of money, there has never been a player sold for that amount in Portugal, but the goal is to win on the pitch and we will do everything in that direction. Today, if they do not beat the 120 million, the player stays.”

De Oliveira sent a further warning to any prospective buyers, by claiming Benfica are continuing to look at offering Felix a new contract that would see the release clause increase.

“I think the president still has the intention of reviewing, but on the other side there is the player, the entrepreneur, the family. What we have is to anticipate, looking at the potential of the player, as long as we can persuade the other party.

“There are talks and rumours, it is true that the biggest European clubs have expectations, but no proposal has come to us.”

Therefore, both clubs have to splash their banks in order to hire the services of Portuguese youngster, considering Benfica have publicly refused to negotiate the price any further down for the player.
