Joao Felix produced an exceptional performance to dismantle Real Madrid’s backline.
Atletico Madrid’s record signing Joao Felix produced a breathtaking Man of the Match performance against rivals Real Madrid.
The Portuguese teenage sensation, who was signed for a whooping €126 million, signed a massive seven-year contract at Wanda Metropolitano and took over Antoine Griezmann’s number 7 jersey straightaway.
Of course, it would require time to judge his worth, but he was nothing short of an exemplary performance against Los Blancos. The 19-year-old was deployed behind Diego Costa, as a number 10, dismantled the whole backline headed by Sergio Ramos with two assists and a goal.

He beautifully threaded two delightful through balls to Diego Costa and got in time to tap the ball in from close range in the either of the two halves. His debut was cut short against Numancia last week, but he demonstrated his qualities against the rivals.
Reflecting on the showing against Madrid across the pond, he told Goal: “It’s positive. Beating your rivals is always good and special.
“This win gives us confidence, but we will continue working like we’ve done until now. I want to score as many goals as possible so that we can reach our objectives.”
Atletico still play two more friendlies before the kick of the La Liga. They will take on MLS All-Stars and Atletico San Luis in the next six days before culminating their pre-season friendlies.
