Jordi Alba's father still drives him to Barcelona training ground even at age 30

Jordi Alba’s father still drives Jordi Alba to Barcelona’s training ground eve though he is 30-year-old, as revealed by Gerard Pique.

Jordi Alba is one of the highest-earning players in Barcelona squad and is among the world’s best left-backs since a while. Yet, the experienced defender is dropped by his father at Barcelona training even though he has touched the age of 30.

In a Spanish TV show ‘La Resistencia’, Gerard Pique was seen making this revelation about his teammate. Pique was asked how 17-year-old teammate Ansu Fati gets to training and the defender revealed the same way Alba does – by his dad.

“His Dad brings him,” he said. “Just like Jordi Alba.” Pique adds. A revelation which is now rounding on the internet and making fans wonder why Alba is still off the steering.  It was later revealed that Alba doesn’t have a license.

7 years ago, when Alba joined Barcelona at that time also it came out that his dad used to drive him to the training ground, as at that time the Spaniard was not eligible for a driving license.

The Spaniard left Valencia for Barcelona in the summer of 2012 for €14 million to replace Eric Abidal and has established himself as a permanent fixture in the side ever since.

The 30-year-old has played more than 300 times for the La Liga champions and has represented Spain on 70 occasions. Meanwhile, the subject of Barcelona’s collapse to Liverpool last season was also brought up on ‘La Resistencia’ by a cheeky person in the audience as he shouted “What about Liverpool?”

Pique’s reply was good-natured as he quipped: “No Liverpool. I’m leaving! We said that we wouldn’t talk about that.” Certainly, the former Spanish International did not want to discuss it as it was the biggest heartbreak faced by the Catalans in this decade.
