Jose Antonio Reyes: Former Arsenal forward dies at 35

Jose Antonio Reyes passes away at the age of 35 in an accident. 

Jose Antonio Reyes passed away at the age of 35 in a tragic incident, it has been confirmed. The 35-year-old Spaniard, who is currently plying his trade with Extremadura, died in a car crash. The other details are not yet known, but his death has been confirmed by his former club Sevilla.

Former club Sevilla tweeted: “We couldn’t be confirming worse news. Beloved Sevilla star José Antonio Reyes has died in a traffic collision. Rest in peace.”


Reyes was the youngest player to make Sevilla debut at the age of 16. He broke several records at Sevilla before transferring himself to Arsenal at the age of 21 and was part of the Invincibles squad which went to lift the Premier League title.

He featured for Real Madrid on loan under Fabio Capello before moving to Atletico Madrid in the very next year. He spent four years at Atletico Madrid before going back to his boyhood club in 2012.


He was part of the Sevilla side which lifted three Europa Leagues on a trot. He spent four years at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium before moving out to Espanyol in 2017. He had an extraordinary career all around.
