Jose Mourinho on Arsenal

Jose Mourinho on Arsenal: The Manchester United manager has talked about United’s opponents.

Jose Mourinho’s side is in a rough patch at the moment, as the side are winless in their last three league games.

Southampton held Manchester United to a 2-2 draw last weekend which has increased the pressure on the Portuguese manager.

United are currently 7th in the table after being held to a 2-2 draw by the relegation-threatened Southampton. The side was 2-0 down inside the first twenty minutes of the game, but Marcus Rashford inspired the side’s comeback with two quick assists.

The manager interacted with the media for the pre-match conference ahead of the game against Arsenal, where he talked in detail about Unai Emery’s side.

Jose Mourinho on Arsenal:

The Manchester United manager stated that Arsenal are a difficult team. While the manager admitted that United are having major absences due to injuries, Arsenal won’t have an easy game.

“We will have a very difficult match. They are a good team who have had a good run of results.

“But in spite of our selection issues, they know it won’t be easy either.”

Mourinho also admitted that Arsenal are a new team under Unai Emery, but stated that they have an advantage because ‘they are playing in Europa League.’

“Yes, it’s different [team],” Mourinho began.

“I have my opinion but keep [it] for myself, different yes, and a very difficult match for us because we are going to play against a good team in a good moment.

“[Also] without accumulation of matches because they are playing Europa League and when you play Europa League you normally play with second choices and give good rest to the players.”

“We have to play to the max, with accumulation of matches, and then you arrive in this moment in December and many teams pay the price of that.

“That is not the motivation you want as a team as a club but to develop players fresher is a good way to do it.”

With a win against Arsenal, Manchester United will move closer to the top-4, and will reduce the gap to 5 points with the Gunners. Arsenal, meanwhile, would aim to maintain their unbeaten run.

Unai Emery’s side entered into top-4 last weekend with a terrific win over Tottenham Hotspur.
