Juventus fans boo Cristiano Ronaldo and chant 'Messi, Messi'

Juventus fans booed Cristiano Ronaldo and chanted ‘Messi, Messi’ during K League All-Star game.

There will always be excitement when stars play in our country during the pre-season friendly. To add more to the excitement, the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo should come as a sweetener to the fans.

However, there was a total infuriation among the Old Lady fans when they took on K-League All-Stars in South Korea. According to South Korean publication, Juventus broke the promise and came late for the interaction session with the fans.

Their late arrival meant that the kick-off had been delayed by 58 minutes. On top of that, Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo agreed to play 45 minutes for this game. But, he sat until the final whistle which came to infuriation for the fans.

Owing to the fact of Ronaldo not appearing for a minute on the field and the fans interaction, the crowd chanted ‘Messi, Messi’.

There are unconfirmed reports that Juve’s flight was delayed, which explains why they turned up late and missed the signing sessions.

Although that’s out of their control, it’s easy to see why fans were angry that they didn’t get to see Ronaldo play. After all, he’s the biggest draw and most were probably paying money to see him.

Juventus may be one of the most well-supported teams in Europe, but the circumstances of Friday’s game means they probably didn’t win over many South Korean fans this week.
