The Serie A side is not looking forward to extending Ronaldo’s spell
Although it wouldn’t be fair to say that Cristiano Ronaldo has failed at Juventus, the player hasn’t quite offered what Juventus had envisaged when they broke the bank for him.
Signing Ronaldo for a staggering 100 million pounds, Juventus have failed to progress past the round of 16 in the two seasons Ronaldo has been at the club. Although the player has gone onto net on a mammoth 92 occasions in 120 matches, he’s failed to showcase his mettle in the competition Juventus really wanted.
Ronaldo’s recent listless performance against Porto looks to have been the last straw for Juventus. The Portuguese was lacklustre in the side’s round of 16 engagement, a sorry display which saw the side be bundled out of the marquee competition.
Juventus Set To Let Go Off Ronaldo
While Ronaldo still has a year left on his contract, its increasingly looking like Juventus will not be extending the player’s deal. And Corriero dello Sport in Italy have now gone onto report that Juventus would be willing to part company with Ronaldo for a measly 29 million pounds come the summer of 2021 in a bid to avoid losing the player on a free.
While it remains to be seen what the future holds for Ronaldo, the player still has the Serie A left to fight for. He’s scored on 27 occasions for the club in the showpiece league but unfortunately his goals have not been enough to take Juventus to the summit.
Zidane Talks About Ronaldo Reunion
Real Madrid’s manager was recently quizzed about a potential return for Ronaldo at Real Madrid. While the Frenchman refused to comment on a reunion, he spared no expense in lauding what Ronaldo had done at the club.
“You know what he is, what he has done and how much love we have for him. He made history here, he’s magnificent. Now, he is a Juve player and I cannot tell you anything about what they are saying. He’s a Juve player and I have to respect these things,” Zidane said.
