The month just keeps getting better for Kidambi Srikanth. Fresh from an Indonesia Open win, Kidambi Srikanth now finds himself in the semi finals of the Australian Open. And he has now been greeted with a steep rise in his BWF rankings as well, jumping 11 spots to occupy the 11th rank in the world.

He sits pretty at that 11th spot with 51,603. Though Srikant is still far away from his career best ranking of 3, he is on his way upwards, and looks like he will receive another boost in the revised rankings next week.

Srikant overcame a boisterous Sai Praneeth in the quarter finals, beating him in 2 hard fought sets.

HS Prannoy too has seen a rise in the rankings, moving upto the 21st spot after huge wins against Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei and China’s Chen Long.

Srikanth would be hoping to make it two wins in as many tournaments in the Australian Open.

Both PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal have dropped down by one spot, owing to their disastrous showing in the Indonesia Open. Suddenly it is the men’s badminton that is ruling the roosts in the International circuit with Srikanth, Praneeth, Prannoy and Jayaram stacking up a lot of Super Series wins.
