The Knight Riders have lost 2 matches back to back with the first of these 2 coming against CSK and need to get back to winning matches to rise above the mid-table clutter. CSK, on the other hand, has been clinical and managed to win all but one match. They would look to continue their winning momentum and qualify for the playoffs as soon as possible.
The Eden Gardens pitch will assist the pacers and CSK might have to look hard for some pacers in their
squad. This is KKR’s best chance to get the better of CSK by getting the best out of their resources.
Here are some of the player battles that we can look forward to when CSK take on KKR:
Shubman Gill vs Deepak Chahar
Deepak Chahar is currently the second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament and has been really good with the ball in his hand especially during the powerplay overs. He can swing the ball beautifully and would once again like to rattle the KKR top order on Sunday.
However, a young and talented Shubman Gill might have other plans going by the kind of form he displayed at the top of the order against the Delhi Capitals. He has all the shots in the book and would like to skillfully play Deepak Chahar out of the attack. Let us see which of these young Indian guns come out blazing at the end of this contest.
Prasidh Krishna vs Suresh Raina
It is no secret that Suresh raina has always been uncomfortable against the short-pitched deliveries. With the kind of pitch at Eden Gardens, Prasidh Krishna would surely love to bowl some short ones at the southpaw and pick up an important wicket in the process.
Krishna has been bowling superbly and is probably the brightest spark in the KKR bowling line-up. He can bowl bouncers at express speed which Raina should be extremely wary of.
Kuldeep Yadav vs MS Dhoni
This was touted to be an exciting player battle when these 2 teams last met. However, with Dhoni not getting the chance to bat, we had to wait. Kuldeep Yadav would now look to fulfil his wish of getting his favourite mentor’s wicket. It will not be easy though considering the kind of form the CSK skipper is in.
Also, we can expect Dhoni to have fool-proof plans against his favourite spinner as well. Who will come out on top? Our guess is as good as yours!
