KKR vs MI Preview

KKR vs MI Preview: The Sportsrush presents before you full preview of the 47th match of IPL 2019 between Kolkata and Mumbai.

The Kolkata Knight Riders will be playing their last match at the iconic Eden Gardens where they have had a poor outing on many occasions this season. Mumbai Indians will be upbeat after crushing the B-team of CSK and their Head to Head record against KKR would further boost their confidence.

FORM GUIDE

KKR are on a roll and a bad kind of roll. After having lost 6 matches back to back, it will be a tough task to motivate them. Their bowlers have been in awful form and the constant chopping and changing is not helping things. The batsmen are also performing inconsistently. However, their skipper’s brilliant knock of 97* should lift their spirits.

The Mumbai Indians are coming off an emphatic victory against CSK and have won 3 of their last 4 matches. They are looking good to make the playoffs and have already secured 14 points.

They should now target to finish off on a high with a top 2 finish. Considering they will not lose many players due to the upcoming World Cup, Mumbai should fancy their chances.

TEAM CHANGES

The Knight Riders must look to make a few changes before this match. Considering the Eden track, it would be sensible to bring in Matt Kelly in place of Carlos Brathwaite who has not looked great either with the ball or bat.

Prasidh Krishna, in spite of some good bowling, has been a run machine. He might make way for Kuldeep Yadav who might be drafted in considering the help KKR spinners got the other night against RR. Hopefully, he is fresh enough for Karthik.

Mumbai Indians would look to make a few changes considering the pacey nature of the Eden Gardens. Jason Behrendorff would probably come into the team in place of Anukul Roy who will be unlucky to miss out after a good game.

Evin Lewis would also be unlucky to miss out considering the 4 overseas players rule. Ishan Kishan is likely to come back into the team.

PITCH AND WEATHER PREDICTION

The Eden Gardens pitch will be a batting paradise as usual with plenty of assistance to the batsmen. The trick to stop them will be pacers bowling a tight line and length and using the bounce off the pitch. Spinners can also use the bounce to their advantage and make an impact.

Kolkata will experience a clear night with humidity at 59%. Temperatures will hover around 30°C and it should be a comfortable night. Considering the clear skies, dew will play a major role. There is very little chance of any rainfall.

TOSS PREDICTION

The team winning the toss will surely look to chase on this beautiful batting surface. Dew and past records show that batting second is always beneficial.
