Kohli credits this man for promoting Pandya up the order

Hardik Pandya’s promotion proved to be one of the tactical mastermind during India’s deciding ODI against Aussies. Hardik sensed it as an opportunity rather than a surprise and utilised it to decisive effect.

India badly required an all-rounder like Pandya earlier but for now things are going down too well as far as Hardik’s insights gave glory to India.

The Indian skipper opened up that the head coach Ravi Shastri was the reason behind Hardik Pandya’s promotion which did a world of good.

In a run chase of 295 that required someone to step up and offer lusty blows, Hardik Pandya rose to the occasion to essay a flamboyant 78 runs that came at the most important time.

”We have been wanting a guy like that for the past five, six years. A really explosive all-rounder is what we were missing and he’s giving us that balance. A great asset for Indian cricket and I wish him all the best for the future. His promotion today was Ravi Bhai’s (Ravi Shastri) thought,” Virat Kohli said at the post-match presentation.

There are many players waiting in the wings to showcase their mettle on the turf. India’s future towards heading into the next major event looks good as far as their rotational and experimental policies are tweaked to good effect.
