Krzysztof Piatek to Barcelona: The Genoa striker has dropped a big hint over his future move, and Barcelona seems interested.
Barcelona have struggled since the start of the new season under Ernesto Valverde. The Catalan club might be first in La Liga, but have only scored 14 points in their first seven matches.
Valverde’s men faced a stunning upset at the hands of the-then bottom-placed Leganes last week and were held to a draw by Atheltic Bilbao on the weekend.
However, Barcelona captain Lionel Messi inspired a terrific 4-2 win at Wembley against Tottenham Hotspur, and the Barca fans are hopeful of a turnaround in the league as well.
Barcelona will travel to Valencia this weekend, who have also struggled in the league but come on the back of a hard-fought draw against Manchester United in the Champions League.
Good news also comes for Barcelona in the transfer market, where the club received a major boost over comments on a transfer target.
Krzysztof Piatek to Barcelona:
Krzystof Piatek is a player with whom Barcelona have been linked since the last month. Spanish outlet Sport reported that Barcelona are interested in signing the player, who is dubbed as the next ‘Robert Lewandowski.’
Genoa’s Krzysztof Piatek is really running hot on the goalscoring, with 8 (!) goals in 6 games from an xG of 2.95 according to Understat. No way that’s sustainable.

Piatek joined Genoa only this season, but has recently given comments which suggest that he could be switching as early as next year.
“Last year I was sure I would join a better league,” said Piatek.
Krzysztof Piątek (23) has scored 12 goals in all competitions this season, netting in all 7 of his competitive appearances for Genoa:

“Now I’ve only been here for two and a half months, and I don’t know where I’ll be in the next six.”
He gave these comments to another Spanish outlet, Gazzetta Dello Sport.
Piatek has already scored 12 goals for Genoa in their first seven matches.
According to a media report, FC Bayern are currently watching Europe’s most successful goal scorer, Krzysztof Piatek (23). Bayern want to sign him as the successor to Robert Lewandowski.

Italian outlet Calciomercato has reported that the goal-scoring form of the striker has already increased his valuation to €40m. However, it will be interesting to see if he can capitalize on his impressive start and maintain his consistency.

What next?
Barcelona have had defensive crisis this season as well, as Samuel Umtiti has suffered a major injury which could rule him out for the rest of the year. Gerard Pique is also struggling with form at the moment. Ernesto Valverde’s side is looking for a defender in the transfer market as well, according to reports.
