KUW vs SIN Dream11 Team: Hosts Singapore look to make it two wins on the bounce as they look to consolidate top spot in their favour
Ever since 2017, if there is one side from the Asian region who have been on an unprecedented spree, its today’s hosts Singapore. The side had prior to their debut yesterday recorded 8 wins in the 9 T20 encounters they had indulged in to epitomise the massive cricket culture in the small country.
And playing their first international T20 fixture yesterday as they opened the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier, Singapore once again reaffirmed their nature as a sublime cricketing country. They pummelled Qatar by 33 runs as they put in a clinical performance to register 186-7 while batting first before stalling their opponent’s innings for just 153-9.
What was particularly impressive was not just the win for Singapore but the overwhelming way it came about them. The entire batting order stepped up to the mantle with the top 4 batsman all contributing with scores in excess of 30 to always ensure that Singapore had the momentum to go on and score big. It’s what served them fruitfully at the end of the match on a batting friendly Indian Association Ground which came to birth in the cricketing fraternity for the first time ever.
Elsewhere for Kuwait, the opening fixture shaped out as one would have expected. Taking on a Malaysia side much superior to them, the side were bundled out for 120 in their pursuit of 163, going down by 43 runs to occupy last place in the league standings.
Today’s second encounter of the day sees these two sides in play with Singapore going in with the clear agenda of making it two straight wins and continuing in their quest of nailing down the lone spot the tournament brings with it to the next qualification process.
Given both these sides’ performance in their opening matches of the marquee event, there is one clear winner which emerges from this encounter. The hosts are just way too superior to Kuwait and should register an extremely comprehensive win.
Expect Singapore to leave no stone unturned to make this a as dominant win as possible for themselves. With net run-rate bound to play a pivotal role in deciding who tops the league at the conclusion of the tournament, Singapore are going to want to win this one by as big a margin.
Wicket-Keepers for KUW vs SIN Dream11
Ever since Singapore were identified by the ICC as a potential stalwart in the cricketing fraternity, the side have had one player who has been indispensable to them. Wicket-keeper Manpreet Singh has been pivotal to the side’s rampant display, a player who is not only a safe pick with the gloves but an extremely consistent bat as well.
Batsmen for KUW vs SIN Dream11
The mainstays of their side as Singapore went on their merry way of piling the runs against Qatar, both Surendran Chandramohan and Timothy Hays David and given the lopsided nature of Kuwait’s bowling unit, both these batsmen have been picked up by us. On pristine batting conditions with the surface unlikely to change from day 1, we fully envision these two revelling us in yet another astounding display of batting.
From Kuwait we have only picked out one player in the form of Ravija Sandaruwan. He’s scored 317 in 8 innings with 1 100 and two fifties in those matches and could easily get a good score today as well. The main problem with him though is his inconsistency with him scoring 0s on four occasions in those 8 encounters.
All-Rounders for KUW vs SIN Dream11
With three wickets in the previous match, Janak Prakash is our first pick in this segment. Rohan Rangarajan becomes our second player from Singapore after registering 26 points in Dream 11 against Qatar and will contribute with both the bat and ball today as well.
From Kuwait we have picked up their best player from Monday, Muhammad Kashif. At a time when wickets were tumbling all around him, Kashif wagged a lone battle as he went onto score a fifty to take Kuwait to an extremely solid position of 80-3 at one stage before he failed to get the requisite support from the other end.
Bowling Order for KUW vs SIN Dream11
Singapore’s captain Amjad Mahmood canters into our playing 11 for this encounter without any discussions. His 3 wicket haul ensured that Singapore always held the upper hand in the previous encounter, never allowing Qatar any opportunity to come into the run chase. With Kuwait sent packing for just 120 in the last match, Selladore Vijaya Kumar will be accompanying him for this one.
The one pick comes in from Kuwait as well with Mohammad Ahsan who managed to pick up two of Malaysia’s wickets.
Captain And Vice-Captain
Janak is our captain for today while Mahboob continues to our vice-captain for this encounter as well.
