The KXIP team are back to winning form with a comprehensive win against RR wherein the entire team chipped in with crucial performances. Punjab will be looking for similar teamwork in this match to take home two points. Ashwin will be delighted with the kind of form KL Rahul and Chris Gayle as well as the bowlers are in.
A win here will take KXIP up the ladder and they will be in strong contention for the playoffs or even a top 2 finish. With the Delhi pitch expected to be on the slower side, the spinners might come in handy here.

Top-order
Gayle and Rahul have been in stupendous form. Gayle would once again look to go berserk while Rahul plays the role of an anchor and tries to play the entire 20 overs. Their combination works brilliantly and KXIP would hope for some more magic from the duo.
Mayank Agarwal has been in good form scoring 225 runs in 8 matches. He would want to keep showcasing his talent on the big stage and make the Indian selectors consider him for a spot in the limited overs team as well after the World Cup.
Middle-order
KXIP, in this IPL, have chopped and changed their playing XI far too many times. David Miller might make his way into the team after a good performance against RR last night wherein he scored a crucial 40 off 27 balls to take KXIP to a big total.
Moises Henriques, who seems fine as Ashwin said, will make his debut for KXIP and would be an asset with both bat and ball. Mandeep Singh and Ravichandran Ashwin will look to play the role of finishers in the team. Also, in case Mujeeb is not fit on time, Sam Curran would come in and he can be handy with the bat as well.
Bowlers
KXIP’s bowling has looked excellent in this tournament. The Kotla pitch will favour spinners. Hence, both the Ashwins in Ravichandran Ashwin and Murugan Ashwin would play a defining role in this match. They have to deliver. If Mujeeb is not fit, KXIP will have to play with just two spinners as their domestic spinner, Varun Chakravarthy, is also injured.
In that case, Sam Curran is likely to make his way back into the team to play. He might be reminded of his hat-trick and match-winning performance against DC a few weeks back. Mohammad Shami has been impeccable with the ball and has delivered whenever Ashwin has called him to bowl some crunch overs.
A lot will depend on how he leads the pace attack which also consists of the 20-year old Punjab bowler, Arshdeep Singh who really impressed against the Rajasthan Royals by picking up the important wickets of Jos Buttler and Ajinkya Rahane.
