KXIP vs RCB Man of the Match

KXIP vs RCB Man of the Match: Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman was declared the Man of the Match for his superlative knock.

During the 28th match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Mohali, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Kings XI Punjab by 8 wickets to register their maiden IPL 2019 victory.

Chasing a 174-run target, Royal Challengers got off to a brisk start before wicket-keeper batsmen Parthiv Patel got out in the fourth over after scoring 19 (9) with the help of four fours.

What followed was an 85-run partnership for the second wicket between captain Virat Kohli (67) and AB de Villiers. Having laid the foundation for the chase, Kohli’s dismissal didn’t affect the visitors as the duo of de Villiers and Marcus Stoinis scored the winning runs in the last over.

The effortless and risk-free batting never let any pressure come on Bangalore despite the required run rate reaching above 10 during the business end of the match.

Earlier, Kohli won the toss and put the hosts in to bat. On the back of opening batsman Chris Gayle’s 27th IPL half-century, 99* (64), with the help of 10 fours and five sixes, Punjab scored 173/4 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. With bowling figures of 4-0-33-2, Yuzvendra Chahal was Royal Challengers’ pick of the bowlers.
