The rivalry week goes into overdrive on Tuesday, with KXIP and RR facing off each other at Mohali. The last time these two sides faced each other, Ravi Ashwin was trending worldwide, for having pulled off a very legal yet debatable ‘Mankad’ on Jos Buttler.
That move from Ashwin ticked off a large part of the cricketing fraternity and has now helped form a massive rivalry in the IPL, with millions of people waiting to see the Ashwin-Buttler battle to unfold.
KXIP have hit their lowest point this season, having lost to RCB in the last fixture and will want to get their campaign back on track as soon as possible.
RR on the other hand are coming off a strong win against MI at the Wankhede, one wherein Jos Buttler was at his destructive best, taking apart that brilliant MI bowling unit.
With the Rajasthan franchise still reeling at the bottom, this is again a must-win game for them.

Wicketkeeper for KXIP vs RR Dream 11
Dream 11 have done us a favour and have put Jos Buttler as a batsman and thus we should be able to draft both KL Rahul and jos Buttler into our sides for this game.
KL Rahul, being the only wicketkeeper even worth considering, I close my eyes and get him in, as he has been the best Indian batsman on display this IPL season. Another game at Mohali, and i am quite confident of him getting another good half century, considering that RR have only one bowler that could possibly trouble him.
Bowlers for KXIP vs RR Dream 11
Mohammed Shami has been in fine form with the ball in the past 6 months or so, having really excelled at white ball bowling, in the powerplay and at the death. He has been the leader of that KXIP attack and could help himself to a couple of wickets at the death.
Shreasy Gopal has been a revelation for RR with the ball this season and the long square boundaries at the Mohali stadium would only play into his hands. Also, with KXIP having 4 right handers in their top 6, Gopal’s leg spin could really wreak havoc in that KXIP middle order.
For the final bowling pick, I would be getting in one from Ankit Rajpoot and Murugun Ashwin, whoever plays. Rajpoot along with Shami could be shouldering responsibility for the death overs. If Murugun Ashwin plays, he could be helped by the long square boundaries and by the fact that RR have 5 right-handers in their top 6.
All-Rounders for KXIP vs RR Dream 11
Ben Stokes’ role in the RR team makes me tilt towards him everytime, despite him not putting in the required performances. And while he hasn’t been able to really light up the IPL this season, he still has been able to get 121.5 Dream 11 points to his name. 2 overs at the death and a number 5 batting position is enough to warrant him a place in my side.
For the second all-rounder pick, I go in with KXIP’s talisman, Ravi Ashwin. Ashwin has been the pick of the KXIP bowlers this season, using his variations to good effect. While he has always been economical in the IPL, this time he has gone onto pick up crucial wickets too. Get him in, he is sure to be of good use on that Mohali track.
Batsmen for KXIP vs RR Dream 11
Jos Buttler has now been moved into the ‘Batsmen’ role by Dream 11 and he will be the first batsman I pick for this game. Buttler has been in fine form this season and will some personal vendetta to take care of in Tuesday’s game as well. Get him in at all costs.
Chris Gayle has rediscovered his old self in this IPL, scoring multiple fifties and never taking that extra bit of risk to get himself going. All his innings have been self-assured and he has looked on song this season. Against a RR line up that doesn’t quite have the best bowlers in the IPL, a Gayle storm could once again hit Mohali on Tuesday.
Mayank Agarwal has been the best batsman at number 3 this season, knowing how to play the anchor and the aggressor’s role. His ability to go big when needed and nudge the ball around when the situation is stiff is a quality that not many have. Again, against a fragile RR bowling unit, Mayank could help himself to a quick fire half-century.
For my last two picks, I would be going in with batsmen who are worth 8.5 cr each. Sarfaraz Khan has made that number 4 spot in the KXIP line up his very own. While in the earlier seasons, he has been content with playing cameos at number 6, Ashwin has given him more responsibility with that number 4 role and he hasn’t disappointed his captain or the fantasy managers.
As far for my last pick, Rahul Tripathi fits the bill. Lower down the order, Tripathi’s ability to use the long handle has benefitted the team. Also, he is the only batsman apart from Sarfaraz that is worth picking at that cost. He helps you with your budget constraints and could help himself to a quick fire 20 odd.
