Lando Norris’ tweet after Alonso’s retirement announcement has McLaren fans wondering
Lando Norris’ tweet after Alonso’s retirement has sparked massive interest in the F1 fraternity, about if the young man is really going to replace Fernando Alonso next season.
Fernando Alonso’s retirement announcement has shocked the world of F1, as people did expect it coming some time soon, but when it really arrived today, it caught everyone off guard.
With his 11th August social media post about an imminent 14th August announcement, people had started speculating about a possible IndyCar move announcement, but no one expected it to be as soon as next year.
Earlier this morning, a journalist had reported that the announcement was going to be around Indy500, the event that stands between Alonso and that elusive triple crown.
However, that wasn’t what the entire countdown was about. Alonso did announce his retirement from F1, as both McLaren and Alonso released statements about the decision.
While specualtion about Fernando Alonso’s future in F1 has already started, there is also the small matter of McLaren finding an able suitor for that vacant Alonso seat.
Multiple drivers seem to be in contention, with Ocon, Sainz and Norris a few that come to mind.
Well, Lando Norris’ twitter activity right after Alonso’s retirement has sparked a few speculations about him being Alonso’s successor.
