24 Hours of Le Mans Results 2020: Toyota were dominant as former F1 drivers Kazuki Nakajima, Sebastien Buemi and Brendon Hartley won the Le Mans 24 2020.
Kazuki Nakajima, Sebastien Buemi and Brendon Hartley steered the Japanese Toyota Gazoo Racing to a hat-trick of wins at the 2020 Le Mans 24 Hours. All three racers are previous winners of this series, with Hartley winning it in 2017 with rivals Porsche. Nakajima and Beumi, meanwhile, won it in 2018 and 2019 with none other than the legendary Fernando Alonso.
Heavy representation from Formula 1
This year’s edition saw drivers from Formula E, DTM, Super Formula, W Series and F3 lining up at the Circuit de la Sarthe. Apart from this, 14 former Formula 1 drivers were participating in this edition, although no one from the current roster took part. The former F1 drivers have raced a combined incredible 751 Grands Prix in the most premium of motor racing.
Fernando Alonso, winner of the last two Le Mans, did not participate this time around, after recently competing in Indy 500. Alonso has re-joined the Renault (Alpine) F1 team for the 2021 season. Apart from the winners and Alonso, some of the other notable F1 names are Giancarlo Fisichella, Juan Pablo Montoya, Paul di Resta, Jean Eric Vergne, among others.
