LeBron James has been sidelined because of a groin injury, one that he endured during the Christmas night game against the Warriors.

LeBron was going in for a loose ball in the 3rd quarter when he felt his groin a little. He managed to stay on court for one more Warriors possession, but as soon as the Lakers got the ball, LeBron called in for a timeout.

He then went into the locker room and did not participate any further in the game. Early reports had suggested that LeBron had suffered a groin strain and could be out for the foreseeable future.

However, much to the delight of the Lakers fans, it was announced that the MRI scan revealed that the injury was not a season ending one and that LeBron would be assessed on a day-to-day basis.

Now, Lebron already missed the game against the Sacramento Kings, one that resulted in a loss for the Lakers, as Kings managed to hit the buzzer beater to clinch the win.

LeBron is now confirmed to be out for the next few games, with ESPN confirming that he is set to be on the sidelines for a long time.

Now, while the groin injury is not a very severe one, James hasn’t had this kind of a groin injury in his career and thus does not really know how his body would respond to the treatment being carried out.

The Lakers have admitted that they will be very careful in bringing LeBron back, as an aggravated groin injury could rule LeBron out of the playoffs, something that would be detrimental to Lakers’ plans.

LeBron has largely been very fit all through his career, playing all 82 games for the Cavs last season. Moreover, LeBron hasn’t missed more than 13 games in a single NBA season.

Luke Walton and the Lakers have confirmed that LeBron will be easing back into full time action and according to ESPN he is said to miss a host of game; something that would dampen Lakers fans spirits.

How long do you think LeBron will be out of action and do you think the Lakers will be able to cope with the fixture list in the absence of LeBron and Rondo?
