Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann don’t see eye to eye with each other in training

Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann don’t see eye to eye with each other in training according to reports in Spain who suggest that the pair don’t speak with each other.

Barcelona broke the bank this summer to bring in French forward Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid. The club even embroiled itself in a battle with Atletico over the circumstances of his signing. However, it appears that the move has failed to work out for both sides.

It appears that Griezmann does not have the confidence of his partners Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi.  The duo have, on numerous occasions, declined passing the ball to him despite the Frenchman being open. The speculation was given more ammunition when Messi chose to shoot at the goal himself during their last Champions League match even though Griezmann was wide open. Reports from Spain, further strengthen the claim.

El Chiringuito have reported that Messi and Griezmann do not speak to each other in training.

The report is backed up by an interview that Griezmann gave last month when he revealed that he and Messi do not communicate with each other in training.

“Messi is not someone who talks a lot, and neither am I, so it is a little difficult for us to communicate,” he had said then.

“I got him some mate (South American drink), so I think we’re going in the right direction. But we must learn to make a connection, to improve it. I’m here to help.”

It seems that the Mate didn’t work, as a month down the line, their communication still seems to be in the ditch, Unless the players dramatically improve their teamwork, it appears that the transfer has already failed and we’re not even half a year into the season yet.
