Lionel Messi beats Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar in the Forbes list of highest paid entertainers of 2019

Lionel Messi beats Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar in the Forbes list of highest paid entertainers of 2019 as the trio make it to the top 10.

Forbes has released their list of the top 100 highest-paid entertainers for 2019. The list contains 3 of the worlds most popular footballers in it. Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar find themselves in the top 10 with Messi ahead of the Portuguese and the Brazilian.

The Barcelona playmaker is placed at 4th after earning $127 million (£101 million) as of July 2019. He reportedly earns £50 Million before tax, which comes to just under a million per week. He is closely trailed by long time rival Cristiano Ronaldo at 6th. The Portuguese skipper has made $109 million (£87 million) and currently earns £28m (€31m) a year, which is £19.4m more than the second highest earner in Seria A. The two are joined by Lionel Messi’s former Barcelona teammate Neymar at no.7. The Brazilian raked in a staggering $105 million (£84 million).

The list is headed by Taylor Swift followed by Kylie Jenner and her brother in law, Kanye West. Ed Sheeran is one place under Messi at 5th. Rock band Eagles trail Neymar at 8th followed by Dr. Phil and Canelo Alvarez.

However, no one will deny that they are without a doubt the greatest players this generation has to offer. For all his misdemeanours off the field, Neymar is easily one of the most talented players today only behind Ronaldo and Messi in a lot of people’s books. It is therefore fitting to see all of them make this illustrious list.
