Lionel Messi does not see these two players fit to be in Barcelona’s playing XI
Barcelona captain Lionel Messi has reportedly pointed his finger towards a veteran player in the side and a new recruit. Messi believes that Sergio Busquets and Antoine Griezmann are not playing at a level required to represent Barcelona.
Per Fox Sports, Messi has even gone to the extent of asking the club to offload Sergio Busquets. He believes that the midfield is beginning to wear out with age. Messi wants a gradual phasing out of the Barcelona’s colossal defensive midfielder.
Diario Gol have also reported that Lionel Messi has been far from impressed with Antoine Griezmann’s performance so far with the Blaugrana. He feels that Griezmann’s haul of 3 goals from 9 matches have been beyond unsatisfactory; especially for someone who cost them 120 million euros.
Messi has stated that it feels like Barca play with 10 men when Griezmann is on the pitch. He has also stated his desire to bench him in the favour of Ousmane Dembele on the left wing instead.
