Lionel Messi on Neymar

Lionel Messi on Neymar: The Barcelona star talked to Spanish outlet Marca, where he talked about Neymar’s return to the club.

Lionel Messi has been shining for Barca this season, and is at the top of goalscoring charts even after missing three weeks due to an arm injury.

Messi has scored 15 goals, and has broken numerous records this season already, as he eyes on a successful campaign with the Catalan side.

Barcelona are the defending champions of La Liga, and are currently at the top of the table. Messi, however, has set his eyes on Champions League glory at the club. Barcelona failed to make it past the quarterfinals of the European tournament for the last three seasons.

“As we said at the beginning of the season, the Champions League is always special for what it means and we would like to win it again,” Messi said.

Messi also talked about Ronaldo, and discussed the possibility of Neymar’s return to Barcelona.

Messi on Neymar:

Neymar has been linked with a sensational move to Barcelona in the last few days. While the reports state that the move could be tricky as the Brazilian joined PSG only last year (in a massive 220 million euros deal), Barcelona are determined to bring Neymar back.

Lionel Messi has now addressed the possibility of the move taking place. The Argentine star insisted that the situation around Neymar’s move is ‘complicated.’

“I think it is complicated how Neymar would leave PSG,” Messi said.

“We would love him to come back, as a player and in the dressing room. We’re friends, we had some good experiences together and others not so much,” the Barca star stated.

However, Messi believes that it would be very unlikely for Paris Saint Germain to let Neymar go.

“But PSG are not going to let Neymar walk away,” said Messi in a widely-ranged interview.

Neymar joined Barcelona in 2013, and spend four seasons with the Catalan outfit, winning two La Liga titles and a Champions League trophy, and various domestic and inter-continental honours.

What next?

Barcelona’s Brazilian star Arthur Melo has admitted that he prays for rumours linking Neymar to a return to Catalan outfit be true.
