Lionel Messi thrashes Eibar with hattrick in 40 minutes

Lionel Messi dominates over Eibar after netting a hattrick in just 40 minutes of the game, ends his goal drought in a sensational way.

Lionel Messi ended the match in the first 40 minutes of the game by scoring a hattrick against Eibar. Before this Messi was having his biggest goal-drought in La Liga in 6 years.

Thus, only a hattrick could have sent across a message that he still rules the pitch. His first goal came in the 14th minute of the game when he dribbled past 2 Eibar players and also nutmegged one of them, only to shoot the ball inside the net.

It was impossible for Marko Dmitrovic to make any response to it. Then in the 37th minute of the game, he once again extended his tally, when he received a  ball from Arturo Vidal and Messi drives the ball inside, only to make a beautiful finish.

It was not enough for the Argentine International as he scored the 3rd goal of the game in the gap of three minutes to validate his dominance in world football.

Although this time, Messi intended to make an assist, as he found Griezmann at the centre of the 18-yard box and made a pass, Griezmann failed to make a quick move and was denied a goal by an interception.

But unfortunately for Eibar, the ball went directly to him, and there was nobody to challenge him at that point of time, which allowed him an easy finish and mark his hattrick in the game.

This is Messi’s 54th hattrick at the senior level, taking his tally to 16 goals in La Liga this season, making him the top scorer of La Liga 2019/20 with current standings.

With this, the three points have been secured by Barcelona with another half yet to be played. The Catalans will go at the top of the table with Real Madrid yet to play against Levante tonight.
