Lionel Messi’s outrageous dribble against Getafe’s defence brought a player to his knees, yet again an amazing performance by him.

Barcelona had a tough win against Getafe yesterday, as the visitors kept the Catalans on their toes till the last minute but it was not enough to match the 2-goal tally earned by Barcelona.

Just like any other day, Lionel Messi played a crucial role in Barcelona’s win by giving the assist to Antoine Greizmann’s goal in the 33rd minute to break the deadlock. Before making the final pass Messi nutmegged Getafe’s defender Xabier Etxeita.

Apart from giving a splendid assist, Messi showed his graceful gameplay while toying with Getafe’s defence. One of his victims in the game was Mauro Arambarri.

The Uruguayan international was brought to his knees by Messi, as the latter made an outrageous dribble just outside the 18-yard-box. The snapping of his ankles proves how good Messi was last night, even though he did not score in the match.

Messi is facing his longest goal drought in the last six years, as he has not scored in the last 4 games in the league. Nevertheless, Barcelona won as Sergi Roberto added into the lead gained by Barcelona.

Although Getafe was able to dominate over Barcelona in the match, especially in the first 20 minutes, they could have got the first goal in the game, but a VAR check ruled out their goal.

Meanwhile, Getafe in the second half was able to score past one goal, and for the rest of the game tried to find an equalizer but the Catalans managed to prevent it from happening.

With the win, Barcelona managed to equalize number of points with Real Madrid in the table, but Los Blancos are yet to play their La Liga game of this matchday, but surely, the Spanish league is getting interesting.
