Liverpool fans set to give hostile welcome to arch rivals Manchester United ahead of Premier League game

Liverpool fans set to give hostile welcome to Manchester United ahead of the Premier League game at the Anfield in the coming game-week.

Liverpool has been phenomenal so far in the Premier League, they have won all the matches in this edition of the league except for one which was against their arch-rivals Manchester United and that too was also a draw.

This has been declared to be the best start by a team in the Premier League’s history. At such rate, the Reds are set to grab the league by March and this fact has certainly irked Manchester United fans.

The Red Devils used to mock their fierce rivals over the years for their failure in winning the Premier League ever since its inception. Last year, when Liverpool and Manchester City were in a neck to neck competition for the title, Manchester United fans were ready to see their city rivals clinching the league over Liverpool.

That is the extent of the rivalry between the two. Now, the Kopites want to serve it all back to the visitors and are planning to give a hostile welcome to Manchester United, who are set to play a match against Liverpool on Sunday.

Officialliverpoolfan on Instagram are urging their fans to get to Anfield two hours before kick-off to welcome United’s bus.

The post reads: “We are going for our first title in 30 years. Man Utd will want to stop us more than anyone else so we need to set the tone for the day and let them know we mean business.

“We all know how much this bus welcomes help. Bring pints, pyros and flags and let’s show our arch-rivals what this means!” Another post also lists other occasions teams received unnerving receptions when arriving on Merseyside.”

Indeed, Liverpool’s receptions before big games are mesmerizing to see and it has an undeniable effect before the match, the biggest example is surely their historic comeback against Liverpool last season.
