Liverpool Transfer News: Liverpool star set to reunite with Brendan Rodgers

Liverpool Transfer News: Liverpool star Adam Lallana set to reunite with his former boss Brendan Rodgers, as he steps closer to an exit.

Liverpool is ready to offload Adam Lallana from the club with his contract coming to an end with the Reds this summer. He has been linked with various mid-table clubs in the Premier League.

Amidst all, Leicester City has been at the forefront in the pursuit of Lallana. According to Dominic King from Daily Mail, Lallana is set to reunite with his former boss Brendan Rodgers.

Meanwhile, even former striker Kevin Phillips has claimed that the English midfielder will join Leicester City this summer. “It would be a smart signing (for West Ham) but I cannot see it happening,” he told Football Insider.

“I see the kid going to Leicester all day long. Having worked with Brendan Rodgers and their style of play I think he will want to move to Leicester.” he further said.

This statement by Phillips came after Lallana was linked with 5 clubs in a report by the Mirror, as on a no-fee deal, the midfielder is still a lucrative prospect.

Apart from Leicester City, the London trio of Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham are also in the list with Burnley being the latest inclusion.

But the Foxes has been touted as the favourites to grab a deal since he will get the most number of minutes under Rodgers, who is set to see the departure of James Maddison from the club.

Lallana joined the Reds from Southampton for £25million in the summer of 2014 and was a regular in his first three seasons at the club until injury issues began to strike.

This season he made a significant mark only once while playing against Manchester United, where he scored a crucial equalizer to uphold the undefeated streak of Liverpool in the Premier League, which lasted till Liverpool met Watford.
