Liverpool Transfer News: Timp Werner is desperate to join Liverpool, the German striker has been long speculated with the Reds.

Liverpool is everyday nearing an inch closer to hire the services of Timo Werner. Even though many clubs are interested in him, but Liverpool seems to spearhead the campaign.

In the latest update by James Pearce on a podcast show by the Athletic, he has revealed that Timo Werner is desperate to join Liverpool this summer.

“Timo Werner has his heart set on a move to Liverpool. His representatives have held talks with Barcelona and other top clubs, but Werner is absolutely desperate to come to Liverpool.” Pearce told to Athletic.

On the other hand, Werner is one of the favourite targets of Jurgen Klopp and think highly of his compatriot. Meanwhile, speculations of upgrading over Roberto Firmino has further backed the transfer rumours of Werner.

The 24-year-old striker is in blistering form and bagged 27 goals and 12 assists in 37 games across all competitions this season. Hence, at this stage, it seems to be the perfect time for him to ply his trade in the Premier League.

But with the current scenario in European football, it is hard to execute a transfer, since all the clubs have stopped their activities with the spread of COVID-19.

While the Premier League is at a fault, Bundesliga has already resumed and Werner played his first match since the enforced lockdown, against Freiburg, but his side RB Leipzig had to face a 1-0 loss.

Bundesliga is the elite league in Europe to be active presently. But even they have imposed social distancing norms to avoid the spread of the virus, even the Premier League is trying to do the same, but they still have major obstacles.
