Liverpool VAR Controversy: Roberto Firmino denied goal against Aston Villa for finest of margins as he was spotted offside by VAR.
Liverpool has been frustrated by Aston Villa, as the Reds desire to maintain their lead in the Premier League but the single goal deficit against the Claret and Blues has made them frustrated.
Amidst all of this, Liverpool was close to equalizing the score, as Roberto Firmino sent the ball past Tom Heaton in the 28th minute but the Brazilian International was denied the goal by finest of the margins.
Firmino received the ball by Sadio Mane’s cross and in response, the Liverpool striker taps the ball inside the net, and the Merseyside club jumps to rejoice their comeback in the game.
Unfortunately, the goal was disallowed by VAR, as he was offside by finest of margins, as his shoulder was ahead of Tyrone Mings before he scored the goal. Thus, the assistant referee’s flag raised up after VAR declared him at an inappropriate position.

With this, social media has once again erupted after the offside goal for such fine difference. Meanwhile, Manchester City did also concede a goal against Southampton but later the deficit was covered after Sergio Aguero scored the equalizer and later the winner by Kyle Walker.

But to Manchester City’s bad luck, Liverpool managed to win the game, as the last-minute header by Mane made Liverpool win the game and prevail the 6-points lead.
Therefore, the disallowing of this goal made Liverpool pay a significant price, and they would be under pressure as they next face Manchester City in the league as they would face them with only a 3 point lead.
The frustration was clearly seen earlier in Liverpool’s players, as even Sadio Mane tried to earn penalty by diving but was later booked but in the end, only he made Liverpool prevail
