Yangel Herrera has suggested that he could leave NYCFC for a potential move to a European club.

Herrera is a loanee from Manchester City who moved to the club in February 2017 and is scheduled to stay at the club until December this year.

“I am ready for Europe. I feel good and I would really like to make the jump,” said Herrera in an interview with Venezuela television.

Herrera has been a regular starter for NYCFC this season and is pretty impressed with the level of game-play. He also credited Patrick Viera for helping him settle into this league.

It is a very tough league, very tactical and technical. And the league is growing,” he said.

“I have struggled to adapt but now I am playing better.

“In addition to having been a great player, he is a good coach and a good person. He has helped me a lot since I got here.” he added.

Herrera is happy with his role of an attacking midfielder at NYCFC as he is more of a defensive midfielder with the national team.

“Here, I have more of a chance to play offense. With the national team, I have more of a defensive role,” he said.

“But to me the job is similar because I can play both well.” he concluded.

Herrera’s parent club would has just won the Premier League title and maybe he could get a chance for playing for them in the future.

Lyon had enquired about a potential move for the 20-year old last summer but City were not keen on selling.

Do you think Herrera would leave the MLS?
